A new way of thinking in economics

Robert Johnson is the President of the Institute for New Economic Thinking (INET). In this illuminating article he argues that a lot of people around the world are suffering because the economics profession has failed them. In particular, economics has ignored its own history and the results that some economists (such as Adam Smith) predicted centuries ago. Still, he is optimistic as new economic thinking “is emerging from the ashes of these old ideas”.
